Happy end
It was the
first week of October. The Browns decided to wind down and go to a forest. Mr. and Mrs. Brown were annoyed with their work as well as their
little children were bored with
spending all weekends at home. The time came for them to cheer up and reduce
their stress. Spending a day in the forest
seemed to be the best way to do it. Everyone was so ecstatic about the trip!
When they
came to the forest and found a picturesque glade, Mr. and Mrs. Brown started to
prepare food for the picnic. Children’s hearts weren’t in being as
quiet as a mouse so they were
playing, shouting and laughing. Suddenly little Jimmy saw a huge tree
with strange mushrooms growing on it. He was stunned when he noticed it. Jimmy took an interest in these mushrooms and decided to sample them. He
tried a few small bites and wrinkled his
nose. Mushrooms were disgusting.
After some time mother shouted «Everything
is ready. We are about to start our picnic! Girls, Jimmy come on! Don’t be as slow as a snail!».
Jimmy was sitting under the tree and holding his belly. He was close to tears. «Mommy, I’m
feeling as sick as a dog. My stomach is rumbling and it hurts so
much.»
«Oh my God,
Jimmy, what happened?» cried Mrs.
Brown.
«Maybe it’s because I ate those
mushrooms» murmured Jimmy.
«They
must have been poisonous! What are we going to do? »
mother was almost hysterical.
Everyone
was appalled but father said «Calm down and get into the car. We should
take Jimmy to the hospital».
Mr. Brown
was driving as fast as he could and finally they arrived to the hospital.
When Jimmy
was taken by the doctors his parents were sitting and waiting for news. Mrs
Brown was devastated and Mr. Brown
was heartbroken too. After an hour a
male nurse came to them and told that everything was good. Parents were over the moon when they got wonderful
news.
Doctors
recommended that Jimmy should stay in hospital for a few days. His parents
decided to cheer their son up and bought him a dog. When little
boy returned home he was absolutely elated.

Communication. Body language
There are somewhere
in the region of 5000 languages on Earth. It’s true that it is impossible to learn and understand them all
but there is one language that is understandable for every person,
no matter what his or her mother tongue is.
It is called body language.
Body language is a combination of gestures,
facial expressions and postures which we display
every second of our lives. Even so
we usually don’t pay much attention on it and don’t even bear in mind that without body language our communication would be
dull and colourless.
There are stacks
of gestures. Some are well-known and easy to grasp, while other require
more attention, otherwise they could be misinterpreted. Undoubtedly, a vital role plays personality.
Some people are introverted and display almost any sign of emotion; others
are rather active and full of energy and their gestures can sometimes be excessive.
In any case, it is always interesting to observe people’s gestures and postures and make generalizations about their feelings.
There are some common gestures often used by students.
For example, students usually avoid eye
contact and try not to stand out from the crowd when they don’t want to be
asked.
Sometimes students go red
because they are very nervous before the speech or oral answer. Of course,
going red not necessarily means
being nervous. Also it could be because a student didn’t prepare for classes
and is really embarrassed.
Behavior is opposite when students are
well-prepared. They are very confident; they are putting their hands up all
the time.
Right before getting to know their module results students might be biting their nails or having sweaty
palms.
If module results are good they express their happiness by throwing clenched fists up in the air.
When students are bored with lecture they start to fiddle with their hair, pens or pencils
or anything they have at hand.
By and large, there is huge amount of interesting gestures which
is displayed by people who surround you. Be more observant and you’ll
definitely notice them!

What knowledge means to you? For me it’s a powerful weapon using which you can conquer the
world. Although it is only a figure of speech, importance of knowledge shouldn’t be underestimated. Knowledge
is something you can’t overdo. The more you know the better.
Should everyone necessarily be a knowledgeable person? Well, it’s all up to you, of course, but you
should bear in mind all enormous benefits which having extensive knowledge gives you. Let me begin with simple reasons. First of
all, whether you want to become a pianist or a worker you should expand your knowledge in the sphere
you are going to work in or you will be unable to do your job properly. Secondly, if you are intelligent person other
people will not only respect and admire you but they will get a lot of enjoyment in communicating with you. You can also
share your knowledge with others, give people pieces of advice. It will make
you valuable friend to everyone and you’ll never think of
yourself as a useless person.
From childhood to old age we are learning
something new, something we were previously unaware of. That’s how we are accumulating
our knowledge. It enables us to make right decisions and overcome difficulties in our lives, it broadens our outlook. Moreover, if your money or possessions can disappear in any time, your knowledge can’t be taken
away from you.
To sum up, there is only one advice I would
like to give you. Be hungry for knowledge, always try to discover something new
and your efforts will be rewarded.
